How can I cut down on the amount of dust in our home with a wood burning fireplace?
We have a very nice stove insert (not a stove) paid a lot of money for it, works great! We have a lot of dust when it is operating. I literally have to dust everyday! Does anyone else have this problem? Not sure if it is operator error (my husband) or just a result of having a wood burning device. Does anyone know?

Ah, that is inevitable, so don’t blame the operator.
I exaggerate a bit, but my kids turn the bath-water a funny colour, because I ignite three coal / log fires, and a kitchen range.
This is efficient, but mucky.
We have central heating, but the fun & pleasure of creating natural fire and the associated dust and muck is all part of the game.
Don’t blame your husband, it is mans’ duty to set fire to things !

Sometimes inserts need to be broken in somewhat. Check the manual for the proper setup procedures.
