How do I make a mural?
Murals are beautiful to look at. The theme of a wall-sized painting inside your home is a great way to display your creative and artistic side, and you get to express your personality as well. In painting a mural, the first step is to lay out a plan for your design. To know how each element fits inside the space, measure the wall you will be painting on. You can now translate this space into a clean sheet of paper so that you can visualize what your mural will look like.
Be consistent in scaling down your design. For instance, you can use the ratio of 1 foot of wall is equivalent to one inch of paper. One helpful tip when finally drawing your design is to use a graphing paper so that its grids can guide you as you draw. When you are at a loss as to what design you want, ask your friends, go out, or surf the internet to draw inspiration.
After you have sketched the design you want on paper, plan the colors you will use. Coloring the page is not necessary, but you may want to do so for easier visualization. When you are satisfied with your layout, you can now transfer the design onto your wall. Remember that in painting, colors are extremely sensitive to each other. That is, when applying a specific color, wait for it to dry first before adding the next one. This will prevent the colors from running into each other and ruining your whole concept. Add one color at a time until the mural is complete.
Remember that you have to be absolutely certain of your concept and design before you begin painting. It will be harder to remedy your wall when you suddenly decide in the middle of painting that you want a different concept.
