What is rust proof paint? And can I use it on wood?
Well I bought this rust proof paint and I asked the cashier if I could use it on wood and she said yes, but I don’t think I’m confident in her abilities since she just read the back.
So what is rust proof paint? The label said it worked on wood, and I plan to paint my school project made out of wood with it. Also can it paint on duct tape? ANNNNNNND is it just like regular paint but helps keep away rust? Thanks in advance.

Hello, Rust proof paint ( Usually Hammerite ) is a SILICONE BASED paint made to repel water and is usually used on metal but it can be used on wood and produces a very durable finish. Do not use it on anything which is likely to be repainted with ‘regular’ household or other paints as it will react against it.
You also must use the special thinners with this paint for thinning or cleaning brushes. Turps or White spirit has no effect on it. I used black Hammerite on a large wooden travelling case ( For drummers equipment ) over ten years ago and it still looks good. Give it two or three coats. I think it would be OK on the tape, but why not try on something?. ps. It also dries very fast, so work quickly !!
